Fall Athletics

During the fall season, we compete in cross-country, equestrian, soccer, and volleyball.

Cross-Country

Our intrepid runners cover a lot of ground on and around the MHS campus. You’ll often see them traversing our 3-mile course that takes them through woods and fields, but they also get out and about the Berkshires for a change of pace — and fall is a great time of the year to take in local scenery.

Ken Milano
Cross-Country Coach

Our cross-country team competes in a number of dual and multi-school meets and invitationals, and we typically host a race or two at home each season. We also welcome runners who are just out to have some fun, get some exercise, and take up this lifelong sport!

Soccer

Our varsity and JV soccer teams play on the Class of '57 Field, an NCAA-compliant, natural-turf field dedicated in May 2019. In the beautiful Berkshires, our soccer players get the experience of playing a wide variety of teams in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council ( NEPSAC).

JV Soccer, Fall 2021

Brett Marks
JV Soccer Coach/Assistant Basketball Coach

The feeder program to varsity soccer, the JV team focuses on development. Coach Brett Marks stresses fundamentals, skill-building, and leadership.

Though typically a younger team, JV soccer makes up for a lack of experience with desire and hard work, and the team has a lot of fun along the way.

Volleyball

Volleyball has a long and successful history at MHS. Our varsity team regularly makes the NEPSAC Class B postseason tournament — including a recent stretch of 8 playoff appearances in 10 years.

The team plays in the Anne Meyer Cross ’37 Athletic Center, an 18,800-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility that includes full-sized courts and fully equipped fitness and locker rooms.

JV Volleyball, Fall 2021

The MHS JV team continually develops varsity talent by focusing on the essentials, including proper conditioning, footwork, passing, digging, setting, hitting, blocking, serving, and communication skills, in order to prepare players to advance to the next level.

Like the varsity team, the JV team plays in the Anne Meyer Cross ’37 Athletic Center, an 18,800-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility that includes full-sized courts and fully equipped fitness and locker rooms.

Equestrian

Riding is a three-season team sport at MHS, and our equestrians ride at least four times each week at a top-of-the-line, multi-disciplinary center nearby. The facilities include indoor and outdoor arenas, twenty horses, stables, and plenty of turnout in the surrounding paddock.
