Riding is a three-season sport at MHS

Miss Hall’s offers riding during all three athletics seasons, with our equestrians training at SJH Equestrian in nearby Canaan, New York.

Sarah Hogue
Equestrian Coach

This top-of-the-line facility is a multi-disciplinary center, with indoor (140’ x 80’) and outdoor (125’ x 225’) arenas, twenty horses, stables, and plenty of turnout in surrounding paddocks. Both arenas recently received new footing and are impeccably maintained.

Practices are held four times per week with Coach Sarah Hogue, and riders of all abilities are welcome. Coach Hogue and her assistant, a former college Division I equestrian, are adept at coaching all levels of riders, new to experienced.

Participants will learn not only riding skills but also horsemanship — grooming, tacking, care — and all that goes along with owning a horse. Competition options include Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) shows, local shows, and opportunities to travel year-round for competition and higher-level riding. The team ends the season by hosting its own show, allowing each rider to showcase their individual talents and growth.

Non-showing and recreational riders are welcome as well!
