Miss Hall’s is located in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, part of the broader Berkshires community — one of the greatest centers of culture and education in the Northeast.

Designed by legendary landscape architecture firm Olmsted Brothers — Frederick Law Olmsted was the mastermind behind Central Park and the 1892 Chicago Exposition — ours is a leafy, 80-acre campus with rolling hills, a pond, and a gazebo. Our renowned Main Building, an exemplar of the Georgian style, was completed in 1924; the most recent building, Linn Hall, is an interdisciplinary building focused on STEAM and innovation. It was completed in 2016.

At home in the Berkshires

We are deeply connected to the rich cultural, recreational, and natural opportunities that the Berkshires afford. Our students and staff are regular fixtures at local hot spots like Dottie’s Coffee Lounge, local farmers’ markets, and an abundance of local and regional shopping opportunities.

There are numerous opportunities for skiing, hiking, and horseback riding, and regional universities such as Williams, Amherst, and Smith offer regular educational and social events. The Berkshires’ world-renowned cultural institutions are accessible to our students for enjoyment or study: MASS MoCA, Tanglewood, Jacob’s Pillow, the Norman Rockwell Museum, and more.

And, of course, our signature Horizons program fosters deep and ongoing connections to organizations throughout the Berkshires community, allowing students the chance to give back to their neighbors, bolster their skills with local experts and artisans, and gain invaluable career experience.

Fun in the Berkshires!

On- and off-campus fun! Weekends at Miss Hall’s School provide students with fun and educational activities that connect them with the local surrounding community.

Tanglewood Music Center at MHS

In acknowledgement of its beauty and comfort, our campus has long been the residential home for the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s Tanglewood Music Center musicians each summer.

This special relationship keeps the campus vibrant and busy throughout the summer. And, every so often, we are treated to surprise visits from rockstar musicians such as BSO Principal Cellist Blaise Déjardin and Yo-Yo Ma.

Safety

Our priority at all times is the safety and well-being of our students. We employ full-time security staff who are integrated into our campus community. All buildings employ a key-card system, and numerous on-campus faculty apartments ensure 24-7/365 adult presence across the MHS campus.
