Essential Coalitions & Clubs

Learn about our Student Leadership for the year 2019- 2020. 

MHS offers nearly three dozen student-led coalitions, clubs, groups, ensembles, and publications that allow students to explore their passions, test the reins of leadership, and energize the school community.

Essential Coalitions of Miss Hall's School (Diversity Coalition)
Our Diversity Coalitions are made up of three coalitions that have been identified as essential to the school and works to foster inclusion, equity, and courageous conversations among all students. These three coalitions are Essence, the International Student Alliance (ISA), and Spectrum.

  • Essence

    Members are devoted to the creation of harmony and tolerance, regardless of race and ethnicity.
  • International Student Alliance (ISA)

    Members are International and Domestic students who meet to plan cultural activities and programs that enrich our MHS community. 
  • Spectrum

    Members educate and raise awareness about news in the LGBTQ community for the MHS community.

  • Audio/Visual (A/V)

    Members will work on developing their interest in filmmaking and create community movie nights.
    Members will support school-wide activities by filming and audio recording.

  • Chemistry

    Members will explore different topics in Chemistry and conduct fun experiments that are inclusive to all.
  • Chinese Culture (CCC)

    Club members will provide opportunities for students and faculty to plan and experience activities that celebrate Chinese traditional customs.
  • Cooking Club

    Members will meet and cook together, sharing cooking interests and cultural dishes.
  • Current Events Club

    Members will meet and work together to spread awareness within the
    community about global and domestic issues.
  • Debate Club

    Members will meet and practice debate skills and participate in a debate competition.
  • Design Club

    Members will create and provide posters/flyers to help the community publicize their mission and events. 
  • Dungeons and Dragons (D & D)

    Members will provide a space for students to relax while building creativity, problem-solving, quick thinking and teamwork skills as we play.
  • Final Frontier

    Members will meet to educate and give students the opportunity to learn
    about space and space exploration.
  • Gymnastics

    Members will help girls learn new skills in gymnastics with the goal of performing for the community.
  • Hall's Environmental Action Team (HEAT)

    Members will dedicate their time to supporting climate action. 
  • HOSA

    Members will create more opportunities for students to learn about occupations in the Health field.
  • LAB$

    Members will learn about the business world and economics by assisting with school store offerings.
  • Linguistics Lab

    Members will learn about phonetics, syntax, and the science of linguistics to deepen their knowledge of language.
  • Meme

    Members will work on creating memes to promote more fun and joy for the community.
  • MHS Young Historian Society

    Members will assist students with developing their independent history study and research skills and submitting their work in the spring to the MHS Young Historian Award.
  • Reading and Discussions (ReAD)

    Members serve as a student advisory board to the Humes Euston Hall Library, by selecting fiction and planning fun activities to promote recreational reading.

    Members will use their skills in exploring robotics, computer science, or engineering in everyday life.
  • Step

    The STEP Club is a place for students to connect who share an interest in Step dance. Open to all levels of dancers, this club provides a free and artistic way for students to learn together. The club members are lead by student instructors and typically work on learning basic steps, following choreography, and preparing for performances at all-school events. Students can unwind after a long day of classes and embrace this century old form of dance. We hope to see you there!
  • Wildlife Initiative Local Division (WILD)

    Members sill spread awareness of wildlife conservation and foster a connection between people and nature through fieldwork and hands-on experience.

  • Instrumental

    Members form, together with their faculty advisor, various types of ensembles (Classical, Jazz, Rock.) These groups perform at school events.
  • Theater

    Ensemble members put on two productions each year. Auditions for the fall play are held in September and in November for the winter musical.
  • Vocal

    Members will rehearse and perform music for school and community events.

About us

Located in the Berkshires in western Massachusetts, Miss Hall's School is a private, college preparatory, boarding and day high school for girls grades 9-12.
