Dear MHS Families,
We look forward to seeing you at Family Weekend, October 18 and 19. (register
here)
It is a great opportunity for you to get to spend time on campus with your child, learn more about our programs, and meet with your child’s advisor and teachers.
This year we are offering
workshops on Friday and Saturday. These highlight some of the innovations within our curriculum, as well as provide information about the college process and our health and wellness initiatives. We have designed these workshops to be a shared experience for students and families. Students will be signing up online for their conference(s).
We strongly suggest that you and your child meet with the advisor, and, if there is an interest, you may meet with additional teachers. You will want to communicate with your child around the timing of the workshops you would like to attend and plan the best time for the conferences. If you are not able to attend Family Weekend, we suggest that you arrange with the advisor a time during mid-October to have a phone conversation that includes the student. This is a great time to have the threeway check in about how the school year is beginning.
Please remember that students are required to stay on campus until all obligations are met. If they are on a team that is playing on Saturday, this includes participation in athletic games.
At the conclusion of Family Weekend, Fall Long Weekend begins and runs until Tuesday, October 22, at 9:00 p.m., when all boarding students are expected back on campus. Classes will begin again on Wednesday, October 23. For international students who remain on campus, we will run a full program that will allow for rest as well as a full program of activities. All other students are expected to leave campus for the duration of the break.
