2022-23 Civitas Award Winners

Civitas Awards are presented by Student Council to outstanding members of the Miss Hall’s community

Civitas Awards are presented throughout the year by the Miss Hall’s School Student Council in recognition of distinguished student work throughout all areas of school and student life, including academics, athletics, expressive arts, and leadership. Recipients, who are nominated for the award by their classmates, must also be good citizens and possess the qualities of kindness and generosity.

The recipient of the May Civitas Award is Vy ’23, who was nominated by Solitaire ’23, Hypnos ’24, Nina ’25, Fernanda ’23, and Aurora ’23, who cited Vy’s steady support, empathy, bubbly personality, and encouragement as a ray of sunshine in their lives.

Says Aurora, "Vy is hard-working and detail-oriented and truly does her best in everything that she puts her mind to. She is brave, fearless, and a great listener, with sound advice for others. She has truly made an impact on my journey at MHS.”

The recipient of the April Civitas Award is Margot ’24, who was nominated by Ella ’24, Audrey ’25, Sophia ’24, Revvie ’24, and Kat ’25, who cited Margot's friendship, support, and kindness.

Margot was noted as always willing to lend a helping hand, whether volunteering at a local charity or simply being there for a friend in need, and as "a true gem and a shining example of what it means to be a caring and compassionate human being."

The recipient of the first Civitas Award of 2022-23 was Cora ’24, nominated by Lily ’24, Fernanda ’23, Lily ’23, and Jena ’23 who cited Cora’s responsibility, compassion, sense of humor, inspiration, sound advice, and willingness to help, whether with homework or by just lending an ear.

Civitas recipients are recognized at Community Meeting, where their nominations are read, and they receive an MHS charm bearing the month and year they received the award.

Congratulations, Margot and Cora!
