Through weekly on and off-campus internships, volunteer opportunities, and student-designed projects, Horizons is a four-year program where Miss Hall’s School students build leadership skills, explore career interests, and influence the world around them. Purposeful work and community learning provide authentic venues for students to develop and exercise the Miss Hall’s School leadership competencies: Voice, Vision, Interpersonal Efficacy, and Gumption.
Social-emotional learning takes place through Horizons' experiences, as well as through on-campus workshops that emphasize problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, cultural competency, and emotional intelligence.
Thursdays mean Horizons at Miss Hall’s School. It also means the entire school day changes: ninth-grade students immerse themselves in on-campus workshops and projects that prepare them for future Horizons work, build leadership skills, and strengthen connections among them. Sophomores, juniors, and seniors spend the morning volunteering and interning around the Berkshire community or leading on-campus, independent projects that shape the world around them.
