  • About Ria

    From Pittsfield, MA
"In this community, I’ve learned the value of self-love, and I am forever grateful for my friends who make me feel special, loved, and cared for."
  • Why did you choose Miss Hall's?

I chose Miss Hall’s School because of the academic opportunities and extra-curricular activities. I also chose the all-girls environment, and I am so happy I made this decision because I feel I am able to voice my opinions and be my authentic self.
  • Describe your favorite campus tradition

I love blue/gold events at Miss Hall’s. I really enjoy the competition between the two teams. I remember when the blue team (my team) won the year-long competition at the end of my freshman year, and I will never forget the roars and cheers in the room, celebrating the win.
  • If you could have lunch with any woman, who would it be and why?

Michelle Obama, because I am inspired by her role as an advocate for girls’ education and physical activity. I think she is an incredible role model. If I were to meet her, I would like to hear about her journey to becoming who she is today.
  • Ria's favorites

    Coffee/Tea Order: Chai Tea
    Music Artist(s): Adele
    Book: The Color Purple

Ashley '21

List of 5 items.

  • About Ashley

    From Nantucket, MA
"I come from a small town where there aren’t a lot of nationalities represented. I love that Miss Hall’s is a very international community where people from all over the world come together to share cultures and ideas."
  • Why did you choose Miss Hall's?

I chose Miss Hall’s because of the joyful and inclusive environment that I felt the moment I walked through the doors. I also loved the fact that Miss Hall’s is an all girls school and that you are taught how to be a strong woman in today’s society.
  • Describe your favorite campus activity

I love being a member of the Design Club. In middle school if there was a school event, the poster would be made by an adult but at MHS the students make the posters. At MHS we are so much more than just students, we are creators, thinkers, and leaders.
  • If you could have lunch with any woman, who would it be and why?

I would have lunch with my great grandmother. I never met her but I have heard so much about her. She was a strong-willed and independent woman who held her own. I would like to have lunch with her because I would like to hear about what it was like to be an independent woman eighty years ago.
  • Ashley's favorites

    Coffee/Tea Order: Earl Grey Tea
    Music Artist(s): Ed Sheeran
Books: Little House on the Prairie and The Omnivore's Dilemma
    Subject: Human Geography

Ayla '20

List of 5 items.

  • About Ayla

    From York, PA
"Miss Hall's has given me so many opportunities to grow and also to make mistakes. I think coming into a totally new environment, where everyone was as invested in my growth as a person educationally and as a person has really made me think of young womanhood in a totally different way."
  • Why did you choose Miss Hall's?

I chose Miss Hall’s because it was the only environment where I felt immediately welcome and comfortable. There was just a feeling of belonging that I had never experienced anywhere else before.
  • Describe your favorite campus activity

My favorite on campus activity is meal times. I enjoy catching up with my friends and talking about what’s going on in their lives. I also enjoy meeting new people! I try and sit with new people whenever I can and I love getting to know people in the community better over a good meal.
  • If you could have lunch with any woman, who would it be and why?

Benazir Bhutto because she was absolutely fearless and I have so many questions for her. She was the first female leader of Pakistan (and highly controversial). She fought for a new, democratic Pakistan during a time when dictatorship and tyranny ran supreme. All of the odds were against her yet she persisted and she went on to be elected Prime Minister of Pakistan twice. She recognized the importance of using her voice.
  • Ayla's favorites

    Coffee/Tea Order: Caramel Macchiato
Music Artist(s): John Mayer and 5 Seconds of Summer
Book: Between the World and Me
Class: Advanced Humanities (a combination of English & History)

"I wasn’t used to expressing my opinions but since coming to Miss Hall’s, I have realized that it’s actually really easy to advocate for something that I care about."
  • Why did you choose Miss Hall's?

I chose Miss Hall’s because it is a great fit for me and I fell in love when I visited. I like being in an all-girls school because it fosters an inclusive environment.
  • Describe your favorite campus activity

Student Council is a group of student leaders who work to solve issues for the community and I really enjoy being a part of it.
  • If you could have lunch with any woman, who would it be and why?

Taylor Swift. She’s not just my favorite music artist, but also a role model. Her songs started to influence me when I was just ten years old, her songs and her life experiences not only accompanied my darkest times but also shaped who I am today. I appreciate her so much and I would love to have lunch with her to express my gratitude.
  • Megan's favorites

  • About Chelsea

    From Maplewood, NJ
"I have become more confident with my leadership abilities. Miss Hall’s has challenged me in unimaginable ways, but these challenges have only made me a stronger student."
  • Why did you choose Miss Hall's?

I chose Miss Hall’s because of the small community. Everybody is familiar with each other and that helps us to continue to build friendships. We are also able to maintain small class sizes which are extremely beneficial to my learning.
  • Describe your favorite campus activity

My favorite program on campus would have to be the Athletic program, specifically lacrosse and soccer. I really love bonding with my teammates and learning more about my sports each time I play.
  • If you could have lunch with any woman, who would it be and why?

Michelle Obama because she is so intelligent and has accomplished so much in her career.
  • Chelsea's favorites

Hannah '20

List of 5 items.

  • About Hannah

    From Pittsfield, MA
"I have made friends from around the globe, an opportunity I did not think I would ever have. Miss Hall’s has become a part of my life and I couldn’t imagine not walking through the doors everyday and seeing my friend’s faces."
  • Why did you choose Miss Hall's?

I chose Miss Hall’s because I wanted a learning environment that would support me but also teach me independence. I enjoy the small classes because they give me one on one time with my teachers, which is something I also value.
  • Describe your favorite campus tradition

My favorite tradition is the Blue/Gold Days. The school really shows their school spirit and we all come together and play some fun games. No matter what team you’re on, (I’m biased to Gold) you will be accepted immediately and become part of a family.
  • If you could have lunch with any woman, who would it be and why?

It sounds cliche but I would choose to have lunch with my mom. I always love going out to eat together and exchanging our meals halfway through to keep things interesting. We always have an exciting time and share many laughs.
  • Hannah's favorites

Coffee/Tea Order: Peppermint tea with honey
    Music Artist(s): The Neighborhood, Daughter
