Civitas Awards

Civitas Awards are presented throughout the year by the Miss Hall’s School Student Council in recognition of distinguished student work throughout all areas of school and student life, including academics, athletics, expressive arts, and leadership.

Recipients, who are nominated for the award by their classmates, must also be good citizens and possess the qualities of kindness and generosity.

The recipient of the year’s final Civitas award is Hyeon ’26, who was nominated by classmate Noya ’26, who noted Hyeon’s willingness to work hard, get involved, support others, join initiatives, and introduce new elements to the MHS community.

“She has been so supportive, not just to me, but also to the entire community,” says Noya. “She is also such a hard worker and finds a way to get involved with every aspect of Miss Hall's. She consistently sacrifices her own time to help others, join new initiatives, and introduce new, exciting things to our community. She has grown so much since freshman year and is now a strong leader and role model for everyone. I cannot think of anyone who deserves this recognition as much as she does, and we are so lucky to have her.”

The recipient of the year’s second Civitas award is Ginger ’25, who was nominated by classmates Idalis, Ivy, Julia, and Willa, who cited Ginger’s reliability, leadership, empathy and embodiment of the MHS Core Competencies: vision, voice, interpersonal efficacy, and gumption.

“This person is not only a friend, she is also a person who will always be there for you whenever you need someone. As co-captain of the dance team, she works tirelessly to ensure everyone understands the routines and expectations. As a Proctor, she works collaboratively with her proctees to ensure they’re having the best residential experience possible.

“Whether on or off campus, she has the qualities of a leader. When off campus, she works as a ski instructor and ensures the students get everything they need out of their lessons. She is extremely empathetic in every situation and makes you laugh when you just have a hard day. She embodies the qualities of a true Miss Hall’s student, promoting vision, voice gumption, and interpersonal efficacy all year round.”

The recipient of the year’s first Civitas award is Indigo ’27, who was nominated by classmate Bella ’27 and Siri ’28, who cited Indigo’s empathy, support, joyful personality, and constant kindness.

Says Siri, “Indigo has been an unwavering pillar of strength and support in my life. Their presence has enriched my experiences, from the smallest joys to the most challenging trials. They possess an extraordinary ability to offer comfort and understanding, always ready to lend a listening ear or a helping hand.”

Adds Bella, “I met Indigo when I was in the third grade, and I noticed their joyful personality and constant kindness. Indigo is an incredible friend, classmate and teammate, and I strive to be more like them every day. I see their dedication to their work and their friends, and I cannot help but be inspired. I think they are more than deserving of this award.”
