Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Resources

Cultural competency takes work. As part of the School’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion as outlined in the MHS Strategic Design and DEI Statement, recent work has included full-day professional development sessions for all Miss Hall’s faculty and staff.

DEI Professional Development at MHS

February 6 
— Interactive micro-aggression training facilitated by Dr. Sandra “Chap” Chapman, Director of Equity and Community at the Little Red School House and Elisabeth Irwin High School (LREI) in New York City.  
March 25 — Diversity, equity, and inclusion training with Debby Irving, author of Waking Up White, and noted cultural competency educator Tiffany Taylor Smith.
March 25 — A group of MHS parents joined Ms. Irving, Ms. Taylor Smith, and a number of MHS adults for a session on cultural literacy and how to be more successful in multicultural settings.
April 18 — Dr. Chapman returned to campus, this time to work primarily with students to address student-to-student microaggressions.

August 8 — Miss Hall's announces the hiring of Paula M. Lima Jones as the School’s first Dean of Equity and Inclusion.

September 13 — Rosetta Lee leads a workshop for all faculty and staff on "Safe to Brave: Courageous Conversations"

September 14 Rosetta Lee leads a workshop for all students
