Support MHS

Family Program

Dear MHS Families,

On behalf of the family community at MHS, welcome back to school and, if you are new to Miss Hall’s, welcome to this amazing community! We are excited for our girls to begin this year together and to take advantage of the many wonderful opportunities and experiences that are in store.

As co-chairs of the Family Fund Program, we work with a dedicated group of parent and family volunteers who act as ambassadors to the School’s Advancement and Admissions Offices. It is our job to encourage other families to join us in supporting MHS with their time and philanthropy. This way, parents and families better understand Miss Hall’s and what it takes to continuously re-imagine girl-centered education.

As you may know, tuition covers only 65% of what it costs to educate our daughters. The Annual Fund helps close the gap to cover school expenses and keep Miss Hall’s strong.

Annual Fund contributions from parents, grandparents, and alumnae support nearly every aspect of MHS, from faculty salaries, to the Horizons program, to college counseling and student life. Every family is asked to contribute and every gift, regardless of size, makes a difference!

If you would like to learn more about being a family ambassador and helping the School in this important work, please contact Natalie Matus, Director of Leadership Development at (413) 395-7064 or nmatus@misshalls.org.

Thank you in advance for the important role you play in this community. We look forward to connecting with you in the coming days and months.

Sincerely,

Gillian and Reginald Canal (parents of Chelsea Canal ’21)
Robert Gong (father of Calla Gong ’21)
Melissa Mazzeo (mother of Téa Mazzeo ’20 and Mia Mazzeo ’16)

Co-Chairs of the Family Fund Program for the Annual Fund of MHS

2018 Family Weekend Recap

More than 100 family members joined their daughters on campus October 19-20 to participate in 2018 Convocation, faculty conferences, an UnPlugged concert, and cheering on MHS athletes. Gillian and Reggie Canal and Melissa Mazzeo, three of the four co-chairs of the Family Committee, joined Head of School Julia Heaton to welcome families at a reception Friday afternoon in Linn Hall. They conveyed the positive impact Miss Hall’s has had on their daughters as well as the importance of making a contribution to the Family Fund, which is a critical part of the Annual Fund for MHS.

Why should families, who already pay tuition, step up to contribute?

Tuition only pays 65% of the cost of an MHS education. “All the things that make a Miss Hall’s so transformative for our daughters are possible only because of contributions to the Annual Fund,” Reggie said. He then invited all families to join him and the other twenty-four Family Fund Committee members, in making a gift before the end of 2018. “Please answer our call!”

We'd Love To Hear From You!
