Who We Are

Advocacy

Student Advocates

Miss Hall's students are  advocates  for causes and beliefs in the local community and the wider world. In 2017-2018, students, faculty and staff adopted the theme of "Advocacy," which guided student life, academic, and Horizons programming throughout the year.
    • On April 20, 2018, in solidarity with thousands of other students across the country, many Miss Hall's students walked out of their classes in support of anti-gun violence initiatives. This is what advocacy looks like at MHS. #nationalschoolwalkout #enough

The entire school community - students, faculty and staff - read Rad Women Worldwide during the summer of 2017. The book is described on the Rad Women website:

"Rad Women Worldwide tells 40 stories of women all over the world who have persevered and fought for equality —from well-known leaders like Malala and Wangari Maathai to lesser-known heroes like Chinese feminist Qiu Jin, Japanese mountain climber Junko Tabei, and Nazi resistor Sophie Scholl.

From ancient heroes like the Sumerian poet Enheduanna all the way up to contemporary figures like Colombian grafitti artist Bastardilla, the book spans centuries and continents to remind readers of the breadth and depth of women’s lives and achievements."
“Find a need you can fill today, one that is within your power, and do it. As you contemplate the options before you — tomorrow, next year, and ten years from now — remember that there often is no right answer, so don’t be paralyzed trying to figure it out.” – Commencement speaker Christina Lowery, CEO of Girl Rising
