Student Life

Weekends are Fun!

There is never a shortage of things to do during weekends. The Social Committee makes sure of that, offering tons of choices for activities on and off campus. On any given weekend, students might attend get-togethers and sporting events with area coed and boys schools, go to special events at nearby colleges, like Williams, or take advantage of the great outdoors in the Berkshires, skiing, hiking, bike riding, or canoeing. Students go on shopping and cultural outings both near and far, and Boston and New York City are each just a couple of hours away for day trips. Every weekend there are also quick local trips for shopping, food runs, places of worship, or ice cream! If you don’t see what you’re looking for on the schedule, let the heads of Social Committee know what you have in mind.

Cultural Passport Program

With a "passport" to track individual participation, this innovative MHS program requires students to sample all the cultural riches found not only throughout the Berkshires, but also hosted on our campus. Students agree to attend six cultural events annually, allowing them to broaden their experience both as a student and a global citizen. Two to three "cultural passport" events are offered each weekend, and they are either free or offered at substantially reduced prices for program participants.
