Freshwomen hosted the traditional May Day celebration on May 7 in the Quad. Ninth-graders danced around the May Pole, presented flowers to members of the Class of 2018, and distributed carnations to the juniors as rising seniors. Maya Creamer ’20 was also introduced as this year’s May Queen.
On Friday, April 20, students participated in the National School Walkout, calling attention to issues of gun violence and student safety.
Adventure Day saw six trips head off campus for a day of learning in new settings. Students visited Williams College, Smith College, Olana and Howe Caverns in New York state, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the United Nations, and New York’s state capital in Albany, with a number of the trips featuring more than one stop and activity.
On Valentine's Day the Bigs/Littles held their annual Tea and BINGO gathering in the Dining Room, complete with cupcakes, cookies, prizes, and plenty of chocolates. Thank you to Ms. Hungate for coordinating and to our celebrity BINGO caller Nurse Puz!
Seniors held their annual Tree Trim Party in the Living Room. They sang holiday carols to the ninth graders, and Martina ’21 was honored with placing the star on the tree.
The annual International Student Alliance Holiday Performance was held in Centennial Hall on December 11. Students offered holiday and New Year wishes from nineteen countries, and there were a dozen song and dance performances representing the cultures of MHS students.
The Athletic Association kicked off Spirit Week with the annual "Halls-o-ween" costume walk during Community Meeting.
MHS Clubs raised money for different causes with sales of cupcakes, bracelets, food, and more during October's Family Weekend.

All students participated in class retreats, which give classmates time to get to know each other and bond through a variety of team-building exercises. The seniors had an overnight retreat at the Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA in nearby Becket, while the juniors spent the day at the Ramblewild aerial adventure park in Lanesborough. The sophomores spent the day at Becket-Chimney Corners and the freshwomen also went to Ramblewild.

On May 1st, the annual May Day celebration was held in the Quad. Congratulations to Nikky ’19, who was named Queen of May by the freshwomen. Class President Camillia ’20 explained the May Day tradition to all in attendance, and freshwomen presented carnations to each of the seniors and tulips to the juniors. The Big/Little Sisters enjoyed time together during the annual Big/Little Sister Tea and Bingo in the Dining Room. Dubbed the “Equali-TEA,” and held on International Women’s Day, the event drew a sizable crowd, as the girls enjoyed warm drinks, snacks, prizes, and each other’s company before the break.
