Expressive Arts

Expressive Arts

There are many opportunities for students at Miss Hall's to express themselves artistically, and our artists are recognized annually for their talents.
Music, theater and the visual arts are combined into one brilliant department at Miss Hall's. Through our Expressive Arts program, each student can try out new forms of creativity, from traditional skills like acting and photography to newer forms of digial art and digital song writing and production. Our faculty can also create an independent study around your interests. Every week, it seems, there's a new chance to perform or display your work. Want to try something new? Let's make it happen.

Artist-in-Residence Application

The Expressive Arts Department is hosting one Spring Artist-in-Residence during the 2018-2019 academic school year. In exchange for a studio space and a stipend of $1000, plus meals, this artist will provide collaboration and demonstration opportunities with Expressive Arts courses and a culminating show or presentation at the end of their residency. Dates are flexible for the Spring (February - May) of the 2018-2019 academic school year, to include up to a month-long duration.

Communicate With Confidence

Voice is the power to communicate ideas with authenticity and confidence, as well as the instrument by which girls can "connect [their] inner and outer worlds" (Carol Gilligan, In a Different Voice).
