Dress Code Guidelines

Dress Code Guidelines

The Miss Hall’s School Dress Code requires students to present and express themselves in a manner that respects each student and the School, while allowing students to display and develop their personal identities. Students are expected to take pride in their appearance, to be neatly dressed and well-groomed, and to demonstrate through their dress respect for themselves and others. All clothes must be clean and in good condition. Health department regulations require that shoes be worn at all times below the second floor of the Main Building.

For reasons related to safeguarding health and maintaining community standards, students are not allowed to alter their appearance in any way that the School determines to be harmful to them or offensive to the school community.

If a faculty member or Proctor asks a student to change her clothing, the student is expected to comply. If the student has follow-up questions after compliance, she may direct them to the Dean of Students or Assistant Dean of Students. If a student refuses to change her clothing or argues with the person asking her to change, she will be issued a judicial citation.
