Library Mission

The Humes Euston Hall Library is a critical partner in ensuring the success of Miss Hall’s School students. Through materials and programs, direct instruction, and collaboration with faculty, the library encourages student imagination and intellectual curiosity, and educates students in their use of ideas and information, empowering them to become ethical users and creators of information and independent lifelong learners.
The library is a quiet, comfortable space where students can read, study, or relax, as well as gather in groups in one of the study rooms. The library is staffed with a full-time professional librarian and is open every day from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. The diverse print collection contains approximately 14,000 volumes and 50 periodicals, and students have access to thousands of additional sources through the library's subscriptions to 45 databases as well as millions of books and articles through the state-wide interlibrary loan program. The catalog and circulation systems are fully automated, and the library is proud to offer self-circulation, trusting our community members to check out their books properly and return them promptly.

ReAD

In addition to academic resources, the library has a diverse fiction and graphic novel collection that has been developed with girls’ interests in mind to encourage extracurricular reading. Since 2010, students in the library “ReAD” (Recommendation and Discussion) Club have been meeting once a week with the librarian to help choose fiction to purchase for the library.
