MHS students Anna Kim ’18 and Tiffany Luu ’18 took to the stage in April 2018, hosting a benefit fundraiser to support a local nonprofit organization.
Anna and Tiffany will host “Girls Aloud! Advocating Girls Empowerment,” from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, at The Barn at the Egremont Village Inn, 17 South Main Street in Egremont. Proceeds from the show will benefit Berkshire HorseWorks, which provides EAGALA Model Equine Assisted Psychotherapy to those at risk, and Equine Assisted Team building for organizations of all kinds.
Anna has been interning at Berkshire HorseWorks during her senior year in the School’s Horizons program. She was inspired to develop the show as she became more familiar with the organization and nonprofits in general. “I did not know much about nonprofits before coming to MHS, but after learning more about them and about Berkshire HorseWorks, I wanted to develop a way to donate,” she added. “I’m really interested in music, and I’ve performed at concerts before, so it gave me the idea of organizing a senior concert.”
Anna enlisted MHS bandmate Tiffany, whose Horizons internship is with the local radio station WBRK, to perform in the show and to help with the event’s marketing. The concert will feature music from various genres, ranging from pop to jazz, Anna explained. Performers will include Anna, Bella Currie ’18, and the MHS group the Electric Berries, which includes Anna, Tiffany, Kate Nguyen ’20, Queen Tran ’18, and Amy Qian ’18.
Tickets for the show are limited. General admission is $15, and the student price is $12. (A student ID must be presented at the door on day of event.) Tickets must be reserved by emailing Anna, at skim@misshalls.org, by April 21. There will be a pre-sale for Miss Hall’s students, families, staff, and faculty, and all reserved tickets must be paid at the door on the day of the show.
For further information, email Anna at skim@misshalls.org, or call Hayley Sumner at (413) 698-3700 for details regarding Berkshire HorseWorks. Proceeds from the event will directly fund Berkshire HorseWorks’ confidence, leadership, and empowerment equine assisted therapy programs for girls and women.
