Miss Hall’s offers riding as a varsity sport during all three athletics seasons, with our equestrians training at nearby Berkshire Equestrian Center in Richmond, Massachusetts, for Coach Sarah Hogue. Practices are held four times per week where the riders get an opportunity to learn about the anatomy of the horse, horsemanship, and riding lessons. We believe in teaching our riders to not only ride but to take care of their animals as well.
Competition options include Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) shows, local shows and ends the season by hosting their own horseshow allowing each rider to showcase their individual talents and growth. MHS Riding may include up to five IEA Horse Shows, and non-showing riders are welcome as well.
In addition to the varsity program, there are equestrian opportunities available at riding centers, stables, and equestrian centers located within minutes of the Miss Hall’s campus. Several students ride at local equestrian centers, while some students have also boarded their horses at nearby stables, and others have made an equestrian-related experience part of their participation in
Horizons, our off-campus experiential learning program.
This season's coaches are Sarah Hogue and Deb Horth.
