The Advising Program is an important part of life at Miss Hall’s School. Each MHS student has a faculty advisor who is available as a personal and academic mentor, and advisors serve as liaisons with other members of the faculty and administration and as the School’s liaison with parents.
The advisor-student and advisor-parent relationships can be critical factors in the MHS experience. For a student, the advisor can play a key role in helping her navigate the high school experience. For parents, the advisor can be a powerful partner in loco parentis.
Here, Photography and Art Teacher Sophie Lee ’96 speaks with Jennifer Dowley, mother of Marion ’15 (who is known as Slade), about the advisor-parent relationship.
